Growth

24 …
Outdoors, trees are slowly budding.  In the backyard open space the greening grass almost hide my feet as I make my steps to peruse the now showing wild and annual flowers; notably, yellow daffodils and lavender irises are first to rise up.  They always do.  Still, the landscape is drab.  Not even the energy and songs of tiny birds that have hatched, and have taken their first flights, could yet cheer and perk me.  Deep inside me broods impatience for the colors to quickly come back.  I must still this fear of the landscape not wanting to blossom or that it is just taking too much time to bring back spring.  I must put in my heart that Chinese adage, “Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still.”
